How can Stress Management sessions help me?

Stress Management sessions can help you get the most from your life.

Stress / Burnout

We need a certain amount of pressure or challenge in our lives to thrive. Too little, and we become bored, switched off, demotivated. Too much, and we feel under stress. Too much for too long and we cross the line into burnout, which can take weeks or months to recover from and substantial time off work.

Too little pressureBored, lethargic, switched off, can't be bothered. Tired for no apparent reason. Focus on small worries. Negative thinking ('why should I', 'it won't work'). Health affected - minor ills
Healthy pressureEnergised, engaged. Feeling able to cope with things and have reserves to spare. Able to rise to challenges and extra tasks
StressHarder to cope, things become a struggle. Too much to do. Becoming more exhausted. Worried, irritable at small things. Low mood. Harder to keep things in perspective. Health affected - colds, headaches, aches & pains. Normal activities (social life, hobbies, family) become a drain, to be avoided
BurnoutExhausted. Constant struggle to just survive, harder to hold it all together. Low mood, depressed. Emotionally numb or fragile - a small thing will unravel it all. Frequent minor ailments. Mental or physical breakdown happens suddenly ('final straw'), leading to significant time off work and possible health concerns.

Stress Management sessions can help you understand which simple, realistic changes are worth making to your lifestyle and daily routines in order to reduce the risk of becoming unduly stressed and help avoid the likelihood of burnout.

If you are already experiencing burnout, or signed off from work due to stress or burnout, then Stress Management sessions are essential to help you return to your normal capabilities in the fastest possible time.

If you are experiencing difficulties due to the current economic climate -  a sudden financial crisis, or loss of your job, for example, then this free De-Stress kit for the Changing Times might offer help in coping with your new circumstances, and moving on.

Work / Life balance

As the rhyme goes, 'too much work makes Jack a dull boy'. Whilst work and career might be the main fulfilment in some people's lives, we all need to be replenished by activities outside of work too. Think what might happen otherwise, if you are giving out most of the time without your reservoir being refilled at regular intervals!

There is a balance that is just right for each of us - and where that balance lies will be different for us all. An essential part of any Stress Management session will be to look at how to create a better balance in your life whilst keeping it realistic and achievable.

This makes it easier to keep the positive effects of healthy pressure in your life whilst reducing the negative effects stress can have.
