Social Buddies is a membership-only group. Fees for membership have been kept to a very moderate level, despite it being run at a 'bespoke' level of service, however there are always running costs and administration fees that need to be covered.

Because Social Buddies is entirely based on meeting others at social meets and run through the internet, it is important that each member has regular internet access and is willing to commit to attending at least one event each quarter (two for Founder Members). This seems fair and reasonable.
Of course, we would hope that members will want to attend much more frequently but realise that busy lives can sometimes make this difficult.
How to Join
- Complete an application form and send it to us
- Pay your joining fee plus your quarterly or annual membership fee through our online payments facility below. Please note: your membership is automatically renewed until cancelled.
- We will then send you a welcome email, plus an email invite to the Members Area, which currently is run through a Yahoo Group. You will need to set up a Yahoo ID to get access, which Yahoo should automatically prompt you to do.
Look at the FAQ page for details of how to get access to the Members Area. - Please note - for sensible reasons, we reserve the right to refuse applications where this seems to be in the group's best interests.

Member
Joining Fee £15. Membership Fee £15 a quarter or £45 per year inc VAT (equivalent to just £3.75 a month)
A person is eligible to join as a Member if they
1. Complete an application form and pay the Joining Fee plus the Member’s membership fee.
2. Agree to attend at least 1 event in any 3 monthly period.
Joint Member
Joining Fee £22.50. Membership Fee £22.50 per quarter or £67.50 per year inc VAT (equivalent to just £5.62 a month)
Couples are eligible to join as Joint Members if they:
1. Share an email address to which all Social Buddies communications can be sent, and pay the joint membership fee from one bank account. [Please note: Joint members will appear on the Social Buddies system as a couple with only one Yahoo ID, not as two individual members.]
2. Complete an application form and pay the Joint Member's Joining Fee plus the Joint Member's membership fee.
3. Agree to each attend at least 1 event in any 3 monthly period
Founder Member (category now closed to new applicants)
Annual Membership/Unlimited Events for the equivalent of just £1.66 a month inc VAT
A person is eligible to join as a Founder Member if they
- Have joined the Social Buddies Yahoo Group and attended at least one meet before 1st October 2008
- Complete an application form by 1st October 2008 and pay the Founder Member’s membership fee
- Agree to attend at least 2 events in any 3 monthly period
Founder Members will be eligible to renew their membership at a Founder Member rate provided:
- There have been no breaks in their membership
- They have attended at least 2 events in every 3 monthly period. (Reasonable consideration will be given where the Founder Member applies for an occasional waiver of this, where there are substantial / unforeseen reasons why this is not possible, eg long-term illness).
If not, Founder Member status will no longer apply and membership status will revert to Member. Member’s rates will apply after this point.
Note:
All fees are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate. VAT reg 911 6986 07.
If you wish to cancel your subscription
Membership subscriptions are automatically renewed, unless suspended or cancelled. A reminder will be sent shortly before a renewal is about to be made.
To suspend or cancel any further renewals of your membership, simply click on the unsubscribe button and follow the instructions. Access to the Members Only area will then cease at the end of your current membership period.
